The Martin Gallier Project are looking to expand it’s Board of Trustees!

 

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about preventing suicide, breaking down stigma and supporting families to join an established and growing charity that are fiercely dedicated to doing just that.

 

As a member of the Board of Trustees, you will play a vital role in making sure that The Martin Gallier Project achieves it’s core purpose by supporting and challenging the executive team in order to ensure sustainability and growth of the charity.

 

Duties of a Trustee include:

         Attend regular Trustee Meetings and be part of discussions that are focused around the purpose, mission and values of The Martin Gallier Project

         Provide support and guidance on The Martin Gallier Projects purpose, vision, goals and activities.

        Ensure that the organisation pursues its stated charitable objects as defined in the Governing Document.

         Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.

         Ensure that operational plans and budgets support the vision and strategy.

         Uphold the good name and values of the organisation.

         Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place.

         Ensure the financial stability of the organisation.

        Protect and manage the property of the organisation and ensure the proper investment of its funds.

         Ensure that the organisation has a governance structure that is appropriate to a charity of its size/complexity, stage of development, and its charitable objects, and reflects the diversity of is its stakeholders.

         Ensure that the board regularly reviews the governance structure and its own performance against an agreed programme.

        Ensure that the board regularly reviews its own training needs and creates an expectation of continuous professional development throughout the organisation.

 

What we are looking for:

         An individual who is passionate about suicide prevention and holds enthusiasm in our mission to prevent suicide, break down stigma and support families.

         Willingness and ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as a Trustee and to act in the best interest of the charity.

         Ability to think creatively and strategically whilst working effectively as a Board Member.

         Willingness to lead according to The Martin Gallier Project’s values.

        Preferably an understanding of ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) however training will be provided.

 

This is a voluntary role which involves meeting on a regular basis with the Board of Trustees and the senior management team of The Martin Gallier Project. You must be willing to commit your time and effort and be passionate about our mission.
