POSTVENTION
Postvention Support
Supporting you after crisis – because healing is possible
At The Martin Gallier Project, we understand that life after a suicide-related crisis or loss can be overwhelming, isolating, and difficult to navigate. Our Postvention Services are designed to offer ongoing, person-centred support to individuals and communities affected by suicide — whether through lived experience, loss, or the complex challenges that can lead someone to crisis.
Our support goes beyond intervention. We offer a safe space to heal, rebuild, and connect through structured workshops, peer groups, and therapeutic support tailored to your unique journey.
Who Can Access Our Postvention Support?
Our postvention services are exclusively available to individuals who have previously received a suicide intervention from The Martin Gallier Project.
This ensures continuity of care, allows us to build on the trust and safety already established, and supports each person through every stage of their recovery journey.
Postvention Services
The Self-Care Movement
Designed for women who are or have been affected by suicide, this group offers peer support, connection, and a focus on reclaiming wellbeing.
Through shared experiences, guided self-care, and open conversation, participants find strength and solidarity in community.
Forget Me Not
A gentle, supportive group for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide.
Forget Me Not provides a safe space for grief, remembrance, and connection with others who truly understand the unique pain of suicide bereavement. Forget Me Not focusses on remembering the person for who they were rather than how they died.
Belong
Belong is a safe, inclusive peer support group for members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are, or have been, affected by suicide. Whether you are navigating thoughts of suicide or grieving a loss, this group offers understanding, shared experience, and community-led support in a judgement-free space.
Parent Support Group
A compassionate and understanding space for parents who are or have been affected by suicide. Whether you're supporting a child in crisis or have done so in the past, this group allows you to connect with other parents for shared support, understanding and guidance.
Martin’s Man Cave
A peer support group specifically for men affected by suicide or social isolation.
Martin’s Man Cave is a place to talk, connect, and build a support network in a relaxed, friendly setting, reducing stigma and encouraging open conversations around male mental health.
Recovery Star Workshops
Our Recovery Star Workshops are in-depth, transformative sessions designed to explore and strengthen the 10 key areas that impact mental health and wellbeing. These comprehensive workshops help individuals understand what led them to crisis and empower them with the tools, strategies, and confidence to move forward in recovery.
These areas include mental health, relationships, employment, managing money, self-care and more.
Working Well
A specialist programme supporting individuals whose experiences in the workplace — such as stress, discrimination, burnout or redundancy — have contributed to their suicidal ideation.
Working Well focuses on wellbeing, confidence-building, and practical employment support, helping individuals feel safe and empowered to re-engage with the world of work.
Relationship Support
Relationships can be a source of strength, but also of distress. Our relationship support services provide help for individuals in crisis due to relationship breakdowns, unhealthy relationships, or domestic abuse, offering person-centred emotional and practical support to move forward safely and with dignity.
Therapeutic Support
We offer both Person-Centred Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as part of our postvention support.
These therapies help individuals understand and process suicidal thoughts, manage emotional distress, and develop healthy coping strategies tailored to their own recovery journey.
You Are Not Alone
Postvention is not just about surviving — it’s about recovering, connecting, and rebuilding a life full of meaning and hope.
If you have already accessed a suicide intervention with The Martin Gallier Project, you're not on your journey alone — we're here for every step that follows.
